SPAM® Pizza Pockets


  • 1 can SPAM® Classic, cut into 30 strips
  • 15 slices white loaf bread
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 3 tbsp tomato sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp oregano powder
  • 450 g Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Vegetable oil for glazing


  1. Heat oil and pan fry SPAM® Classic strips.
  2. Mix the tomato paste, tomato sauce, salt and oregano powder into a sauce.
  3. Flatten bread slices into thin sheets using a rolling pin.
  4. On each slice of bread, spread half a tsp of sauce on one half, top with SPAM® Classic strips, and about 30g of cheese.
  5. Brush the edges of the bread slice with water. Fold and seal edges tightly with a fork.
  6. Place the pizza pockets onto a rack, brush both sides with vegetable oil. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15 minutes.
  7. Once golden brown, rest the pizza pockets for 5 minutes before serving.
