SPAM® Chopsuey

Confucius once said: "You're only as good as your last Chop Suey. So make yourself extra good. Toss in some SPAM® Lite." Okay, maybe we paraphrased a little. But you have to admit that wiser words have never been said.


  • ½ can SPAM® Lite , slice then cut into strips (about 5mm)
  • 30ml cooking oil
  • 3g minced garlic
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 156g broccoli florets
  • 1 small carrot, sliced oblique
  • 312g cabbage, chopped
  • 78g button mushrooms, halved
  • 78g young corn, halved
  • 78g sliced bell peppers
  • 118ml oyster sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Splash of water if dry (optional depending on quality of vegetables)
  • Cornstarch slurry to thicken sauce (optional)


  1. 1.Heat oil in pan, sauté garlic and onion.
  2. 2.Add SPAM® Lite strips and sauté for another minute.
  3. 3.Add broccoli and carrots, cook for a minute.
  4. 4.Add cabbage; and cook for another minute.
  5. 5.Add the rest of the ingredients and season with oyster sauce.
  6. 6.Season to taste with salt and pepper.
