Crazy Coco SPAM® Maki

Coconut is known for having a thousand uses. Turn the shells into a chair. Use the oil to create hair conditioner. Fry the meat for Crazy Coco SPAM® Maki. Coconuts will save the world. Mark our words.

Ingredients

  • 4g grated ginger
  • 5ml honey
  • 5ml soy sauce
  • 30ml water
  • 15ml butter
  • 2 - 6mm slices SPAM® Classic
  • 100g cooked Japanese rice
  • 25g coconut meat strips, breaded and fried
  • 2 pc crab sticks
  • 30g carrot, peeled and sliced into julienne*
  • 1 pc nori sheet, cut in half
  • 1 pc beaten egg
  • 30g Japanese breadcrumbs

Directions

  1. In a pan, combine first four ingredients. Simmer until thickened. Finish with butter. Set aside.
  2. Using the upper part of the can as a mold, insert 1 slice of SPAM®, half of carrots, coconut, and crab sticks and layer with remaining ingredients in previous order.
  3. Unmold and cover all sides tightly with nori.
  4. Dip in egg and coat with bread crumbs. Deep-fry until golden brown. Slice into 6 and serve with sauce
